ACT or Competition Clutch?
I've heard bad things about the ACT clutch. PP too stiff? Crankwalk?
Anyways, I have a CC 6 puck with my Comptech Supercharger. It's definitely different (my first puck style clutch) but you get used to it. However, 1st gear engagement is still a bitch, and if I'm cruising around day dreaming, I will stall on occasion. It's great for all the other gears though, and I can shift much quicker with it. And I really like it on the track.
If I had to redo it all over though, I'd definitely pick a clutch with less bite. I was going to get the SOS clutch but they were sold out when I was looking to buy.

My car's stock so i went with an ACT Lightened Flywheel and Exedy Heavy Duty PP and disc.
Clutch itself feels close to stock. Still super drivable as a daily and i don't mind the combo one single bit!

How come ACT over Exedy? Curious how the car drives with a lightened flywheel. Does the car stall really easily with minor upgrades in clutch and flywheel?
I remember when I had my RSX with a lightened flywheel and clutch, supposedly Comptech from what the dealer said they got me, and anyone who ever attempted to drive my car stalled at least twice before being able to move the car.
Just curious how the actual driving of the S2k feels with some of the combinations posted in this thread.

I got Exedy over ACT PP/Disc because i read a bit about ACT PP and it seems to be a bit more harsh than the Exedy. I wanted mine to be a bit more drivable at the expense of a grippier clutch.
ACT Flywheel because it seemed like the best within my pricerange. I didn't want an aluminium flywheel so skipped Fidanza (would've been heaps easier and cheaper for me to get Fidanza) but settled for ACT. Had to order a chromoly ACT from the US and pay 50% more than Fidanza here, but it was worth it.
Haha yeah, its a bit harder to drive with the flywheel but u get used to it. Most people stall at least once or twice before the car moves but after that its not really a huge problem aside from starting off smoothly from a standstill, which is a bit harder at first too. Maybe get an AP1 flywheel instead of a lightened one.

I just replaced my original clutch (165000 miles) with the ACT HDSS. I don't launch.
The ACT is slightly stiffer and engages smoothly. It is very easy to drive in stop and go.
One warning....
The HDSS is noisy on deceleration. You can hear the springs rattle. Very annoying, but I will have to get used to it.

I know the owner of comp clutch personally, he was the guy that put a face on the clutch masters brand. I was dir. Of marketing for clutch masters for a while back in the day so I know he knows his stuff and won't stand behind the product if it isn't good. Now for the proof... I have tested all 3 brands, the comp clutch and cmi clutch are basically the same. Act tends to be a little heavy but some people like it to feel like a race car. I prefer drivability over a popeye leg. I say go for comp clutch, or have a look at one of the japanese clutches
