Finding a good tuner is the biggest part with either of them. I would say it depends what mods are in your future. If you plan to run FI or ITB's than stand alones should be your choice. If you are going to stay NA with boltons E-manage will work just fine.

I am getting e-manage as I dont have plans to go to far with my motor mods. I will get tuning on 1/12/08 and will post my thoughts here after its complete if you would like
Posting your results would be highly appreciated since I am thinking about getting the Emanage Ult with my current bolt on setup.

Here's my e-manange contribution after tuning from Church Automotive:

Baseline with k&n FIPK, Berk's new high flow cat, and invidia exhaust:

HP: 222.1
TQ: 152.1

After EM-U install and tuning:

HP: 234.7
TQ: 161.7

Increase: 12.7hp, 9.6 lbft Tq.

Additionally Vtec was lowered to 5800 and the powerband is incredibly smooth. The power spike at vtec isn't as noticeable, rather the car is just making much more power all the through to the vtec engagement.

The car feels very different; it's awesome! These were pretty much the numbers i was expecting, but i wasn't sure what sort of feel the car would have with these increases. Im completely happy with the results and the car's new power. I just need a good header to drop vtec a little more and grab some more power. I'm pretty confident I can break the 240hp mark on Shawn's dyno.

I know a few people were waiting on my install and dyno charts...so there you have it. A brief review backed up with dyno numbers.

This thing destroys the VAFC. hands down.

oh and as for the debate, my opinion: EM-U for bolt ons and mild engine work. If youre doing more advanced engine work or FI, go with the AEM EMS.

Without cost being involved or as a factor go with the AEM EMS and don't look back.
I have the Emanage now and a friend, also a member here, has the AEM. A quote from Donnie Brasco " forget about it" There is no argument for the greddy.

What size exhaust? 70mm?

Also... what type of Dyno was it?

If considering AEM, why not the Hondata?

I think the most important thing to do is find a tuner first, and then together decide on the unit. Like the best golf clubs in the world, it doesn't do poop until it's used by someone.

The only gains you really see with the Hondata are due to lowering the VTEC engagement point... nothing else. So at 5500 RPM where you don't have VTEC, HP is low. Now if you change the VTEC Crossover to 5500 RPM, of course you're going to see a gain becaue now you are running on a more aggressive setting.

Now if you look at the HP gain at 6000+ RPM, you really don't see a gain at all.
