The only gains you really see with the Hondata are due to lowering the VTEC engagement point... nothing else. So at 5500 RPM where you don't have VTEC, HP is low. Now if you change the VTEC Crossover to 5500 RPM, of course you're going to see a gain becaue now you are running on a more aggressive setting.

Now if you look at the HP gain at 6000+ RPM, you really don't see a gain at all.

The Hondata will produce the same gains as the AEM EMS. It is supposedly easier to tune. It does require some items from the '06+. I believe it can still be OBDII compliant because of the use of the RSX ecu. I'm sure I've got that screwed up, but there are advantages. I would have one, but I do not have the money to switch away from my AEM EMS currently.

You know what... I'm mistaken here. I was thinking single minded here with bias towards us 06+ guys... lol. With the 06+, we send in our ECU and they are reflashed with not that much worth out of it.

My apologies.

What size exhaust? 70mm?

Also... what type of Dyno was it?

Sorry, I just copy and pasted from the socal forum where everyone is very familiar with Church Automotive.

The dyno and tuning was done on a dynapack. Church

I honestly do not know, but that seems to be quite optimistic even for Shawn's dyno. I have a 2.5L at 12:1 CR running 93 octane. I cannot remember if we(InlinePRO) were talking about 100 octane readily available at the tracks or going with C16, but the increase in hp would only be about 10hp.
Bah. Again I forgot to mention something. Sorry. With the JDM cooling mods ( fan switch, thermostat, and rad. Cap ) and 93 octane, you are able to get around 8-10hp due to the engine staying cooler and running more efficiently. The guys up in the northeast( twiztid and gilbertg ) have been doing this very consistently with tuning. So for around $130ish dollars and the cost of 93 octane fuel, I would be able to pretty easily get those numbers.

Unfortunately in SoCal, we don

This is the best feature of the EMU. I used the 2nd setting for a valet mode, 5K RPM limit.

I gave up the EMU for the Hondata. Too many install & tuning issues with the EMU

Once a car is up to temp, it's up to temp regardless of the thermostat. I use a Mugen rad cap, but sold the Mugen thermostat because it is pointless.

Just thought I would bump this thread.

Went to Curch's (Dyno Pack same place Hero went) on Sat. and got EMU tuned, Then went back on Sun to fix the Idle at start up.

Impression - Car feels stronger than before pulls a little harder and the Vtec dip has been smoothed out and AFR's have been corrected . I could not believe how high Church's Dyno reads

Mods on car E-Auto CF cold air intake, Mugen 2.2l header, and ASM 70mm Single (Cat still on car)

1st I dyno'd (Baseline) at Logic Motorsports (Mustang Dyno) = 197HP/ No TQ #'s

Baseline at Churches - 240.3 HP / TQ 165

After Tuning - 248.5 HP / TQ 174

All in all I give it a
