aemv2 intake for 120

FWIW...Cold Air intakes are not very beneficial. Other than the sound and the fact oil changes are hell of a lot faster there's not point really.
Cold air intakes help the engine produce more power because they draw in 'cold-air'. Are you saying there is no benefit drawing cold air? This is proven and so is the V2.
I have this intake on my 02 AP1. I dyno 194whp w/ no fan on front of car on a hot day (testing friends portable dyno). I have mine wrapped w/ heat wrap for the track. I will say after a session, the intake manifold gets extremely hot. Once I start driving and pull in the pits, if I touch the manifold, its completely cold again. Clearly the air coming in is NOT hot and I'm NOT losing HP. I also live in Cali an its been raining like crazy for days, go in a puddle w/ the throttle open and it will stall. drive around puddles and your fine. this is w/ my brake duct cut out and holes drilled from the radiator area as recommended by AEM. Take it or leave it but that's my review on it.

Yea man it happened to me the other day, but granted i was driving without fender lining. Im pretty sure with it i would have been fine. Read through that thread and you'll be fine in case you run into a puddle. Still waiting to rebuild my engine...
However if it does ran alot i would consider getting a nice short ram intake because even during rain without driving through puddles the car would often bog on me. I know on the AP2 its RIGHT there by the bumper vent and gets some nice soakage (as far as my injen goes)

i would consider this before buying a cai if your area rains heavily.
I know that my Injen CAI got alot of soakage since on an Ap2 the bumper vent leaves it pretty open, and i have suffered a bogging/choking on the car several times in heavy ran without going through puddles, so personally when i rebuild my engine, the first thing i am going to do is sell my CAI and most likely get a Comptech. Ill sell you the complete Injen one for 150 shipped! Freshly cleaned
yeh when i had a v2 i would look inside from the cut out and see the aem filter was damn near soaking wet. so i thought to myself, hey that's not good. lol my friends tried to convince me to keep it but i told em stuff it coz it's gonna fock up my engine sooner or later. so yeh i wouldn't get it.. period.
There's no harm in the filter getting wet, or even VERY wet. It's only when the filter gets completely submerged with the car moving in gear that it will suck GALLONS of water up 2+ feet into the engine. If the car is just idling in neutral, it will stall before it can develop enough vaccume to suck enough water up the pipe. That's why you need to coast through deap puddles with the engine idling. If the filter gets submerged for a second, then you'll need to drive cautiously until you're sure the water is back out of the intake. If there's just a liter of water in the intake, you would have to do full throttle at high RPMs to get it up to the engine, and even then, it probably wouldn't be enough water to damage the engine.

Thats alot of effort to protect the TOP of the intake rather than the bottom...

And yes although this did happen to me i WAS driving that day without fender lining which contributed alot...Just read through that thread and it will give you the low down on what to do in case you stall out in water...
