Thumbs up Anyone ever add an additional resonator to a 70-75mm single?

I am really itching to change up exhausts. Only issue is I am not a fan of the singles out there really and want a somewhat quite exhaust. Or just not super loud and droney.
I haven't seen any info on it here from people who have done it. Was thinking of maybe getting either the HKS 75mm single or the Q300 70mm single and adding an additional resonator. Should that significantly reduce the volume of the exhaust? Do you think it would restrict exhaust flow a lot as well? I would like to free up my exhaust a little and get back to the dyno to see how it does with my sc setup I have now.
All exhausts seems to have just the 1 resonator and then a muffler. So adding another resonator before the muffler I would think should cut down on the decibels quite a bit.
What do you think? What would be a good resonator to go with that would fit underneath after the first resonator by the cat/test pipe?

I don't think it would hurt power very much. Maybe like 1-2hp. Maybe you should test it?

I've tested several different resonators in my custom 3" exhaust, and was VERY surprised at the effects they had on my midrange torque with an early VTEC engagement. Even the location of the resonator changes the curve, and having 2 resonators compounds the impact. There was only slight impact on the high RPM torque in VTEC, but there was no impact on low cam torque.

I recently added a Vibrant 3 inch resonator in place of the test pipe on a Hytech header. This was attached to my Asura "dual" and the sound decrease was welcome to the ears.

The 3 inch opening 10 inch long Vibrant canister is fully open straight through with small (~3mm) round holes around in periphery of the inner tubing. It seems to have knocked down the volume across the entire rpm range. I can not attest to any power changes.

was it the normal resonator, or the ultra quiet series?

If these can quiet an RX-8 exhaust they may do wonders for the S. Hugely popular on the 8 forum.

If all you want to do is turn down the volume a little and not hurt power, then I would recommend this race muffler. It flows very good and it does not change the tone at all(just makes it quieter) and with nothing to burn out it will not get louder as time goes by.

I have one and it has been on my wife's car(GM) for about 6 years now and it sounds the same today as it did when I put it on.
All I know is this race muffler works at taking the edge off of a to loud of an exhaust and it cut down on the drone that my wife's car had on the freeway at 68 to 75mph. There not expensive so give it a try and see if it helps. I mounted mine as far forward as I could which was right behind the cat. I got mine at Jeg's.
