I understand you are referring to the red/black wire that looks to be plugged into the ballast on the top right of your pic? Does the other end plug into the car's wire harness? Is it a situation where the ap1 car wiring won't reach the ap2 ballast? Or the plug on the ap1 car harness is different than the plug on the ap2 ballast?
Assuming its not there - am I SOL?

EDIT - I just took a look at the ap2 headlights I purchased recently - like the picture shows above, there is a two wire red/black wire pigtail that has one end clipped into the underside of the ballast. The picture above shows the headlight upside down. The wire runs from the underside of the ballast, through plastic wire routing tabs located on the headlight body, and around to the back cover of the projector lens, where it is attached with a plastic routing tab and then ends with a female connector. I can't confirm this without having the car apart, but it appears as though the female connector at the end of the pigtail, by the back of the projector lens, is intended to receive a wire from the vehicle harness. Is this the "harness extension" you are referring to Hfreak? Or, do I need something else?
