^throttle seems more responsive, also feel a little more pull at high rpms. i am running the tanabe concept g exhaust. it is 60mm into dual 50mm pipes at the split.
has a nice raspy sound to it now, not like with the stock cat. can hear the engine more through the exhaust.

^no smoke from my car, is a my08

update!!! heatshield starting to rattle, either that or i need to recheck all the exhaust bolts and retighten them. only hear the rattle when driving next to a cement wall or something. will have to remove the heatshields and see if noise goes away. still no check engine light so far. just might have to make flanges for the hfc to mount the oem heatshields.

has anyone running this hfc without the heatshields notice more heat through the passenger floor, than the stock cat. the stock cat, i had a lot of heat coming through from under the vehicle from the exhaust. the center console area on the passenger side gets very hot, this is why i wanted to keep the oem heatshields on to keep as much heat as possible from reaching the passenger compartment>

update! removed heatshields, rechecked all exhaust bolts, made sure they were tight.
rattle gone now and exhaust sounds better now. mine was sounding like it was starting to get an exhaust leak, and heatshields , with the exhaust leak. were making the noise much more horrible sounding. sound way better now without the heatshield rattle or hissing noise from the exhaust bolts not being tight enough. by the way all the exhaust gaskets are new. hope this is some help to someone.

Did you have to get a 02 sensor for the CEL fix?

no.... it is a high flow cat which shouldn't cause a check engine light especially if they are "49 state legal and will pass smog/ emissions check". like they say. but yeah, i am not running any 02 sensor cel fix.

i think berk put a lot of time into their hfc . where the secondary o2 sensor screws in. there is only like a 1-2mm hole drilled at the bottom of the hole to let the secondary o2 sensor sniff a minimal amount of exhaust fumes to fool the secondary o2 sensor to thinking the cat is doing it's job.

For an interesting data point: In my autocross class (STR) I can't use an O2 fooler or run the 2nd O2 sensor outside the exhaust stream. I got Berk to put the O2 bung where it the stock one is on my HFC - no CEL after about 3000 miles.

It has very beautiful welds on it. They put a lot of time into it - either with manual welding or getting a robot programmed well.

It did stink a LOT when I first got it. Like someone was burning a full diaper in my exhaust. Like a bit of plastic and a bit of poop. Yuck! But that cleared up after a couple of weeks of daily driving. Now it has a tiny bit of that 'test pipe' smell but not very much at all. If a standard cat is considered a 1 and a test pipe is considered a 10, the Berk HFC is a 3.
