Veilside here, but for different reasons than most. I wanted a vented hood, and the wife wanted the Veilside. I said if you pay for it, I'll put it on. damn if she didn't buy it! It does fit great.

I would suggest a vented hood. I do not suggest cutting up the oem hood. It'll be good for sitting in traffic, but creates more drag and doesn't do a great job of drawing hot air out at speed. If you'll notice, all the vented hoods have a bit of "deflection" just prior to the opening(s). Simply hacking the oem hood does not give you this.
What is the deflection for? So air doesn't enter the engine bay yet allows the engine bay air to escape?

Fiberglass is typically a little easier and less costly to paint.

I've heard the TS hood fits very well. It really all comes down to what type of look you like. I think all the expensive hoods fit well. I have the ASM hood and it fits great.
actually not really, the prep work is the same for fibreglass or carbon fiber, but most of the carbon fiber hood/trunk are slightly been built which translate to less prep work(at expense of cost)

I went for the Veilside, last year...Fit is excellent.... Prep and custom paint was a little hard to swallow....
