I would suggest a vented hood. I do not suggest cutting up the oem hood. It'll be good for sitting in traffic, but creates more drag and doesn't do a great job of drawing hot air out at speed. If you'll notice, all the vented hoods have a bit of "deflection" just prior to the opening(s). Simply hacking the oem hood does not give you this.

Fiberglass is typically a little easier and less costly to paint.
I've heard the TS hood fits very well. It really all comes down to what type of look you like. I think all the expensive hoods fit well. I have the ASM hood and it fits great.
