I have an 07' and I just recently purchased a hardtop. From what I am reading on here, I don't have to change out the stock front strikers in order to latch on my hardtop right?

You don't have to, but there is a difference between the softop strikers and the hardtop ones. I bought the hardtop strikers when I got my Shine HT and there was a pretty noticeable difference in clamping power.

You spent the $$$$ for a good HT, a $50 set of strikers should be a wise investment.

I tried latching on my softop to the strikers that came with the hardtop, and it didn't want to latch on. from what i gathered by reading this thread, i didn't have to change out my stock front strikers. i also noticed the strikers that came with the hardtop are shorter, where the latches hook into place. basically, when i take the hardtop off, i want to be able to latch on my soft top, but it didn't want to latch onto the strikers that came with my hardtop. can anyone help me?

What HT did you buy? Only one or two are compatible with the softop latches.

i bought an OEM hardtop. which strikers can be used with the both the soft top and the hardtop? take into consideration, i have an 07'. the strikers that came with the softop are shorter where the latches hook into place. whereas my stock front strikers are taller.
Who did you buy it from? If you bought used then you might be alarmed to hear that there is a $300+ kit that comes with everything needed and you definitely need new Hardtop latches to go with the strikers. That's why their is a difference between the ST and HT latches/strikers

my hardtop came with latches as well. when i installed my hardtop, i changed out the front strikers to the ones that come with the hardtop kit. eventually, when summer rolls around, i will take off the hardtop and use my soft top again. i tried latching on my softop to the strikers that i installed from the hardtop kit and it didn't want to latch on and close. from what i'm reading from this thread, i didn't have to change out my stock strikers to the ones that come with the hardtop kit right? basically, i want to know which striker will work with both my hardtop latches and my soft top latches? i really don't want to change the strikers back and forth just to use my soft top again.

You have two options.

1- Switch them out when summer comes
2- Use washers to gap out the strikers. Never had to do this personally, but I have read many members with the same issue and this seems to do the trick

I used both latches and strikers from my softtop on my seibon hardtop.

Others have had to change. I would say, try it... see what happens.
