please update the soft top weight, i did a hard top only conversion about 3 yrs ago,

i did a hardtop only conversion myself, the oem hardtop with side catchers was about 52lbs.

i weighted everything when i pulled my soft top. everything was 97 lbs, frame, top, motor brackets.

another thing is what people said about the motors weights a lot, bs. both motors weights under 10 lbs. it's the brackets and the metal frames weights a lot... the glass felt pretty heavy too

my car, my parts:

I have a question guys... my friend has a BB oem hardtop and we'd like to switch off from time to time. what parts would i need to make this possible? i asked Honda for the hardware but they said that they dont sell the hardware kit, that they sell every part individually. so the guy said find out what parts you need and we'll order it. so im like... uhhhh.. stuck on what parts i need really... i know for sure i need hardtop strikers right? and i need those latches in the back? but i can't think of any other stuff? his is an 06' and mines is an 00'. can anyone help me with this dilemma? i really wanna put this hard top on my car already!

If you don't already have the rear catchers installed, it's probably not worth the cost to purchase the rear catchers. $500 new and probaby about half that used. However, if your intention is to purchase a HT in the future, the purchase of the install kit is a good way to go about it. I did this through HTG.

my hardtop came with latches as well. when i installed my hardtop, i changed out the front strikers to the ones that come with the hardtop kit. eventually, when summer rolls around, i will take off the hardtop and use my soft top again. i tried latching on my softop to the strikers that i installed from the hardtop kit and it didn't want to latch on and close. from what i'm reading from this thread, i didn't have to change out my stock strikers to the ones that come with the hardtop kit right? basically, i want to know which striker will work with both my hardtop latches and my soft top latches? i really don't want to change the strikers back and forth just to use my soft top again.
Have you tried using the stock strikers with the hardtop? Why did you install the new ones? I have an 07 and did not need to replace my front strikers for my OEM hardtop (and the stock ones obviously work with the soft top).
