Sweet, I thought of this a couple of years ago and got no support or info. Good to see someone went thru with this. I was hoping this was a viable option that would clear my wheels (BBS LMs) with only a 5mm max spacer, but it seems it would still require a lot of space. At least I know it can be done in case I decide to get new wheels (which I've been looking...really want SSR GT2s, but they're discontinued). Great job! I would much prefer the OEM Acura Brembos to Wilwoods if the possibility was there.

Now get to work on experimenting with the rear BBK.

Just know we all appreciate your tenacity and determination on a project where most of us would have given up & just purchased the Brembo built for our S.

Great job eric...It looks great. Next time you need parts for this type of project LMK or if you need any other OEM stuff. I would like to come by and take a look one of these days on what type of modification you've done and how thick the brackets are and that type of thing. If you have time though.

Great work either way. Thank you for taking the time to do this!

Eric,

Can you help answer some questions for me?

1. Do the new rotors or TL rotors maintain the same offset and rotor distance from hub-wheel mountaing surface as stock?

2. From the rotor face, how far is the furthest part of the caliper (so I can estimate backspacing required)?

3. What did you do about the different centerbore sizes? Did you drill out the rotor centerbore to fit?

4. What size and offset are your RP03s?

I'd really like to use this rotor, to the point that I'm looking into some custom wheel modification setups (not custom wheels...too pricey for me, but modification of some wheels). But I've been told the caliper's so big that it's difficult to fit in most any off-the-shelf wheel. Thanks for your help!

cool! leme know when you wana come by..custom fabricated brackets would be nice even though i dont need them at this point haha. possibly could make some if other people were interested though!

jsr_ap2:

1) i'm not sure but i dont think so
2) i will try to measure this when i get time
3) i had a custom bracket from fastbrakes.com made for me. he already makes a rotor hat that doesnt need any changes which would allow the caliper to bolt on without modification but this will make fitting a wheel even more difficult.
4) the rp03s are +48 offset and 8inch wide with a 245mm tire on it.

if i chose a wheel like the gc07, i would guess it would give me a few more mm clearance and maybe around a 10mm or less spacer would allow it to fit. so it jus depends on how big of a tire you'd like to run and how much camber you're willing to add and fender you're willing to roll to fit the caliper with no modifications. you will need a new rotor hat and rotor though which i know fastbrakes.com will be able to offer you for around 400-500 i forget how much exactly.

eric,

Why does using fastbrakes' rotor and hat make finding wheels that fit more difficult?

Also, if you were to keep the TL rotors, would the correct method to match the rotors to the hub be to bore out the TL rotor centerbore?

What is the negative of leaving the centerbores different?...is it that they won't mate up flush?

Thanks.

Bump.

Eric - just wondering if you had a chance to measure how much backspacing the TL brembos require.
Also, if you could help with the questions I had above, that'd be great.

Thanks.
