Cheaper alternative? Upgrade your pads and run larger tires up front

There was a thread a while back utilizing the TL-S brembos - not sure if it was successful. A few guys in Honda Challenge run these on the Civics. You would need custom brackets for sure.

So, with the $11.95 shipping and handling charge it would be $515.01 for a Wilwood 4-Piston BBK that uses STOCK calipers.
That makes no sense. How is a wilwood 4 piston BBK a STOCK Caliper? ...

I am pretty sure he meant to say stock rotors, not calipers.

^^ Yeah, he mentioned "stock rotors" for, so the stock "calipers was just a typo.... I'm sure anyone reading that, could figure out what he meant...?

I would go for the Willwood set-up, if I had proof that the brackets lined the calipers up to the rotors properly. (Pictures and such.)

Get the last generation v6 manual accord front calipers. They have more pad surface and you can use your oem rotors and mounting points.

The JDM DC5 Type R uses a different mounting size than the USDM RSX Type S. The RSX-S and the S2000 and I believe the TSX as well all use the same calipers/brackets/pads. The SPOON caliper kit someone mentioned before will bolt on to all 3 of these with the same bolt spacing so the DC5R brakes you cannot run, you need to change the whole hub when you do the swap on the RSX. The TL-S Brembos however I don't know....anyone think about RL? Its a Honda 4 pot caliper and its smaller than the brembo calipers.

More info? Any idea of the surface area difference?
