Clutch change: Need advice
After reading some threads, I've decided to go with the ACT PP / OEM Disc / OEM Bearing combo that most recommend. I have a stock AP1, and have two questions:
1. Should I keep the CDV there? I have an AP2-ish tranny that came with a CDV. Are they any downside to using stronger PP without CDV?
2. I have an AP1 flywheel, and am wondering whether it's worth spending another 350-400USD to move to a lighter flywheel -- i.e. those 8 to 9lb ones from Toda, etc. If so, why flywheel do you recommend? ACT?
Thanks

I got the competition 11 pounder, on an ap2 engine, I wish I went lighter. I would imagine having the cdv with a gripper clutch and a lighter flywheel would be counter intuitive, although never driven a cdv'd s2000 with such features, it would certainly help your diff out though.
if you have stock tires you should be fine removing the cdv.
I can recommend my flywheel as to being good... I'm not sure how it will feel on an Ap1 engine.
The car is Alot harder to drive, so your girlfriend or mom or w/e probably wont be able to drive the car. It will buck like crazy if you let it, and it will die extremely easily. That stuff just takes time getting used to.
Once you get used to it, its great, I have a stage 2 clutch and it feels like the car should have came that way.

Mine is a weird AP1 engine. It's one of those 2004+ F20c, so it feels torquier and VTEC engagement feels different from that of earlier AP1s.
I have stock tires. I'm really the only person who drives this car anyway, and seldomly valet parking in hotels or my mechanic. So should be cool ...
