Default Comptech vs. K&N FIPK Intake, need help

I am trying to decide between the Comptech intake and the K&N FIPK intake. I am wondering what experiences people have had with these systems. Any input is appreciated. Thanks guys.

I have the CT Engineering Icebox and I love it. The carbon fibre looks amazing and the whole install was fairly easy. Sounds good too!

I just ordered the K&N FIPK... but on my previous S2000, I had the CT icebox. So, this is for the CT Icebox.

I had fitment issues when trying to install that thing. The holes didn't line up and it didn't fit perfectly in the front corner of my car. That being said, when I finally got the thing in there, the hood rubbed on the icebox, rubbing out the "carbon fiber" look as well as making squeaking noises while the car was moving. I also didn't like the foam air filter. After some time, because of my negligence, the foam dried out and got sucked into the engine. Ya.. not so bueno. It requires maintenance, like all other things, to keep moist.

The new CT Icebox (revision 2 I believe) does not have these fitment issues. Mine went straight in and doesnt rub at all! So the only thing would be maintaining the filter.

Just get the K&N..

Looks can be deceiving.. Function > Form

I had one on my car for 7 months.. I loved it until it got hot outside.. Then I upgraded to a cai..

All short ram intakes get heatsoak either way.. So K&N FiPK & AUT panel ftw!!
