The all aluminum one is actually a good bit lighter. Unless you are referring to the leather wrapped oem knob. Those are both about the same weight.

In addition to the difference in color between OEM AP1 and Ti, I believe that if you flip the aluminum knob over, you can see a black ballast that was added for additional weight (maybe that's only on the leather wrapped model). But yes, the Ti is slightly heavier. I purchased the Ti brand new, and mine does not have the "polished" look.

Also, titanium sparks blue....put yours on a grinding wheel to be sure!

And OP, if you're so sure with a tip of the hat, why did you post?

Ok, BlackBerry cameras are just for show so these pics are not the best.

This image shows the Honda Titanium Knob on the left and the stock 2000-2001 Aluminum Knob on the right.

This is the box a new Honda Accessory Titanium Shift Knob should come in.

Beware of Ebay items... a lot of them are misleading.

If you are stumped, take a grinder to it -- Al will not spark, Ti will spark pure white!

Here are a couple of examples that I found out on Cars.com from 2000 and 2001 models. Look how much more "silver" these knobs are than what I believe the Ti one to be posted above:

I'm actually surprised your Ti looks quite polished and shiny because normally the shade is more like the one you have pictured on the right.

They don't come polished like that. Probably from use. Or got one polished for some reason. Normally come in a very similar brushed finish as the oem one.

Well.... I have had the knob in the car since 2001 and the car only has 21k miles. No one ever polished it for me and it looks quite similar to the picture that Honda Parts Deals.com shows. Maybe it is from use but I don't remember it ever looking any different.

If you look at the picture closely and in detail, it's the light that gives it a "shiny/shine" look but the shade is kind of dull.
