Default Disable VSA/ABS?

Is there a way to disable VSA/ABS without putting the car in some kind of limp mode? Since VSA will also cause the throttle to close, I know it's talking to the ECU.

All I really want is to disable the ABS temporarily but, I know the two are integrated.

Pull the ABS fuse and turn off VSA via the dash toggle switch?

Have you tried it or are you guessing? There are actually 3 fuses going to the VSA modulator (which used to be called the ABS modulator). I appreciate the feedback but, I want it to actually apply and not just be guesses.

It's the ABS part of the VSA I want to disable. I'm pretty sure disabling the VSA still leaves the ABS part turned on (VSA and ABS are all built into the same box).

The reason I want to disable ABS is that about 1/4-1/2 of the wrecks I see on track are caused by the ABS. You may wonder how. Well they teach you "in a spin both feet in". That doesn't work too well if you have ABS. What happens is that if you spin and keep it on track with both feet in, when you slow down enough, the tires hook back up and you shoot off the track in whatever direction you're pointed. If you could really lock the wheels up, you'd slide to a halt still on track.

You see this mode all the time around turn 10 on summit main. People go off or get sideways on the left and end up hitting the wall on the right side of the track.

I like ABS 90% of the time. If I'm on a dry track though, I may or may not want it. As a newb to the S2000, I'd like to be able to lock the tires and slide to a halt if I lose it.

Disconnecting the ABS sensors at the wheels will do it for sure.

What you're saying is I have to try it myself and nobody really knows what the VSA/ABS will do. That's fine. I'll try the fuse first and if that doesn't work right, I'll try the wheel sensor.

The ABS is left intact by Skip Barber in Mazdaspeed MX-5's they run, and the few they wrecked at my racing school ended up spinning in the same direction as the non-ABS equipped formula cars that I was driving, they/we all hooked it to the inside of the corner. I'm no expert by any means (know nothing about Summit), but I think the direction of the spin/off has more to do with the momentum of the cars path than the ABS.

I'm not blaming ABS for causing offs. I saying it makes it harder to recover if you're already spinning. I love ABS...most of the time.
