1. take off wheel
2. remove strut
3. compress spring with a spring compressor then remove top nut so that spring can come off
4. put new spring on old strut, nut it back together (yeah yeah it sounds dirty i know)
5. put old strut back on
6. put wheel back on
7. next... repeat.

Oh somewhere in there you gotta jack the car up, that usually helps !

It's in the DIY section in Under the Hood.

i put the car down on it's weight on the installed wheel and then torqued to specs, some are harder to get to than others but all are accessible and can be torqued on the ground rather than on a jackstand and a jack pushing up...

Oh and pre-loading is not the hardest. Removing/Installing the rear driver side coilover is the hardest.

The method I used to pre- load is... hand tighten all the nuts/bolts, while the car is on jackstands, place a jack under the hub assembly, jack up until the car is lifted off the jackstand. Torque.

get a four foot pipe, mine was 3/4" i got it cut at ace hardware for under $10, you'll need it for leverage for lining up the holes to pop the bolts in...
