Some people have claimed that the flashpro results in better throttle response. I got a flashpro, but the car's still sitting for winter (will bring it out next week), and maybe after some time I can post my impressions of whether it made a difference or not. The flashpro does have throttle mappings that are adjustable from poking around in the software.

I got my spoon throttle body installed this afternoon, here is the review.

My friend didn't lie to me, it indeed helps improving the condition of delay.
Before changing, when I kick the gas hard from low rev around 2000 or even idle, it has delayed reaction like an one second pause before accelerating. I know it happens when you do that while low rev even on conventional throttle, but not as obvious as DBW.
Besides this, while keeping around 3000 rpm then full throttle I can even feel a "pull back" first on my car, just like the exhaust has stuck by something in a sudden, especially in the first 3 gears. I don't know how many people who experienced the same situation, but at least people who have driven my car had the same feeling as mine. It makes me feel the trottle reaction is not like linear and really bothers me, which I never felt with my previous s2k.
With my new throttle body, the "pull back" feeling becomes much slighter which is the biggest improvement. Although still existing, don't make me feel untolerable anymore. Reaction faster as well I can really feel it. BTW, because of the enlarged diameter, the idle slightly increased by about 100 rpm. Now it's about 900.
For people who have the same problem, it is worth a buy.
Next step will be the J's racing CPU install, and I expect the throttle reaction can closely be as agile as cabled ones. Vtec engagement will be advanced to 4900 rpm and fuel cut-off point at 8600 rpm is bonus.

Try searching around. I know there are some companies that make a unit that supposedly gets rid of the DBW lag. I just searched in google: ‘drive by wire lag’ and came up with some results. First result was called ‘sprint booster’ reviewed on NASIOC. I quickly looked through their website though and doesn’t look like they make it for the s2k yet. But there might be other companies out there, I just didn’t search any further for you.

Only a couple ppl have done this conversion. I've been trying to get the details on teh parts that are needed. And what else is involved in teh swap. MY reason for doing the swap is to be able to add ITBs to my set up. I have a MY06 and I was planning on converting the throttle assembly to a MY05

What is required to change to DBW from throttle cable? I want to do this so I can use a 06 ecu and tune it with flash pro.

Some people would suggest learning how to drive your car. Get butt hurt if you want but it isn't the same as older cars with a throttle by cable. That being said it doesn't mean it can't be driven just as fast. If you adjust your driving technique you can be just as effective. In all the cases of people complaining about DBW I blame driver error.

You do realize that means changing out your entire wiring harness and a shit load of sensors right?

flashpro for the drive by wire car has a throttle delay adjustment to get the best response. you can also adjust the throttle position target to over compensate for this to be more responsive. get flashpro and get tuned, problem solved.

Also chiming in to recommend Flashpro. I got it for my 06 and there is no lag sensation now. If you just simply don't like DBW, I'd suggest that you sell your car and get an AP1 or early AP2. Likely cheaper than trying to convert to throttle cable.
