Default Engine torque damper's effectiveness?

How effective are they? I have a 07 and I can feel the vibration at LOW rpms around idle to 2500, but not high. I don't believe anything is wrong with my engine mounts and the vibrations aren't really bothersome, other than my broadway mirror getting blurry from vibrating. I've just been curious and want to ask for your opinions and reviews on torque dampers; can you actually feel a difference in vibration? and does it affect performance?

I have an 07 and it is perfectly smooth, no vibrations at all, are you sure you don't have poly engine mounts?

How many miles are on your car? Engine mounts can fail relatively early in the car's life and can increase the vibrations felt. The top of the mount will start tearing out and will eventually come free. You can jack the engine up slightly while the car is up on jack-stands to check the mounts condition visually or by touch to confirm.

ETD won't help with the vibration you are experiencing. ETD resists the twisting motion of the engine when it's under load, not during idle.

+1 on a PO having fitted aftermarket motor mounts. Either poly bushings, or some other stiffer mount.

Check your motor mounts, see if they are stock.

I can see these ETD used to prevent or minimize motor mount failures under load but doubt it will eliminate idle vibrations. I never used one though.

I can tell you from personal experience that an ETD will not eliminate excessive vibrations caused by failing/failed engine mounts. Others report smoother shifting and a noticeable difference. I just finished replacing my engine mounts, so I can't compare since both mounts had failed before I installed my Ingall's damper.

I doubt very much there are aftermarket mounts involved unless the car has been modified significantly. They're normally not an early modification for most people.

My other S2000 already had failed factory mounts at 66K miles and I've heard of them failing sooner. I would inspect them for tearing.
