Default Exhaust/Headers/Testpipe

Hello, i'm new to the forums here, I just recently purchased my 2003 s2k (May 5th) and I just had a quick question. I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, and if this is the wrong place to post I apologize.

I am looking at the RSR GT2 exhaust with Megan Racing Headers / Test Pipe.

Does anyone agree or disagree this is an OK choice?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

megan header honestley wont provide you any hp gains. are you looking for a dual exhaust or a single exhaust?. any test pipe is fine really. its only about 2 feet long anyway, make sure it has a cel fix. instead of a megan header, look into plm header. around same price, proven gains.

if you want a loud exhaust and plan on staying NA go with a 70mm single. im not a fan of duals really. so kinda biased on that one lol

The megan headers will provide some gains, search on the site, there are a couple of dynos floating around where it made some power.

Please at least try the search button.. If you try the RSR let us know how it is, i was lookin at gettin it but there wasn't enough sound clips to choose it. I went with the Greddy TiC 70mm Turbo single. Very loud though.

Sorry Touges2k. I'll try that next time :\

.. I'll look into the PLM headers. However I'm a fan of the duals, even though it's not really dual... Im pretty stuck on the RSR.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

oh and btw i saw on ebay some PLM headers going for ~380 in case you go that route.

i would also recommend a vafc or some way to at least get a little bit of tune on it with a full free flowing exhaust. i kno myself once i get a header i will be getting a vafc. most people have close to 10hp gains on top of bolts ons after getting a quick vafc correction.

@4forall

I'm unfamiliar with a VAFC.
Exactly what is that for? Which brand should I go with?
How much does it cost?

Sorry for my dumb questions, I'm still "new" to the car.
I appreciate all the kind words and help.

Welcome to S2KI and the S2000! Since you are new to the car, I really think you should put your plans for mods on the back burner. Unless you are just looking for an excuse to spend a couple thousand bucks, you really need to learn more about the car. The S2000 will not show much gains from bolt-ons alone, so you would really need some sort of tuning solution. Even if you make all the best plans, you will probably only be able to gain 1 HP per $100, so you'll have to spend at least $2K to be able to feel the slightest difference in power.

BTW, the S2000 has an inline 4 cylinder, so there is only 1 header.
