Not necessarily. I have a test pipe and I never get that "black soot"
You must be using some special kind of fuel, since I've had issues with black soot on each of 5 cars that I've installed test pipes. Two of these were S2000's. My '02 had a test pipe with a totally stock exhaust, and it would actually blow a black cloud of soot if I did a long drive on the highway immediately followed by full throttle in 1st gear.

that's odd, I'm using Chevron's 91 octane gas. Even when I go to the track, I don't get the "soot black cloud."

The black cloud only happens when you gun it in 1st gear after LOTS of light throttle driving. I haven't noticed that to happen since I replaced my OEM mufflers with Magnaflows, so my theory is that the soot was collecting in the chambered mufflers, then getting blown out all at once the first time I gunned it in 1st.

Both of my S2000's have been light colored, so it is easy to see the soot when I do a "white glove test" on the rear bumper.

it depends, does is your exhuast 60/63mm or 70mm. Like it says in previous post, it doesn't matter what brand test pipe what matter is the size. So if your exhuast system is 60/63 mm from the cat then you'd want 60/63mm test pipe. If your exhuast system is 70mm from the cat then you'd want a 70mm test pipe.

Hey guys,

I had one more question regarding my setup.
(RSR gt2, Invidia 70mm Test-Pipe, and the PLM headers)

I was speaking with a couple of friends regarding this and a couple of them warned me about a rattle? I guess inside of the car you hear a lot of rattling? I'm not quite sure, anyone have any issues with "unique" sounds?

I realize this may come across as me trying to be "grammar police", but S2000's don't have headers. They have a header (just one).

as far as a rattle goes. if you bolt everything up correctly and tighten it down there should be no rattle. might be a little raspy. shouldnt rattle.

If the exhaust winds up having much drone, then you'll probably have rattles inside the car from various sources (soft top tray, dash board, etc.).
