2. Testpipe with a universal sports cat welded into it
If you have to weld a cat on the test pipe, then you might as well keep the oem cat. The oem flows better than all but two aftermarket cats that I know of:

Thankyou for all the tips, it all makes sence why that pipe is there for now.

I might use the OEM cat for MOT's only, and just use a testpipe for the rest of the year. Although when im driving infront of the police its so easy to tell if someone has a cat or not im pretty sure they will pull me over and ill get shagged for not having a cat.

Second issue is im going to have to pay well over the odds as it seems all of the UK megan suppliers have stopped selling this exhaust, so instead of purchasing the high flow cat from the USA it would actually be cheaper to buy a universal cat and a testpipe and weld it in.

The selection of parts for the s2k really suck in england, and the stuff we have got is ultra overpriced.

with the exchange rates what they are, it wouldn't be cheaper for you to buy from a U.S. dealer and have it shipped to you?

OP, I think you're wasting your time and effort. You're going to gain....what? 5..maybe 6 hp?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the HP gains will most likely be in the single digits.

its a NA car regardless... any simple mod like exhaust/intake/headers will yield single digits on its own, especially with a car like this.

I would highly recommend berks test pipe. Built in CEL fix, gained 7whp on a dyno back to back. And people exaggerate about the smell my car smells exactly the same as it did with the cat on. Also a single will give you themost power and most weight reduction. The stock header is also heavy. So by replacing all that you'll probably gain 10ish whp and lose about 60-80 lbs.

Well not quite that much weight(upper region), think the most you could really lose with the lightest parts around is about 68lbs. With my Amuse mani I lost like 12lbs, if I change the cat to a Berk HF version that will be like another 7lbs and the J's 70RS dual I have on order will net another 36lbs, so in total 55lbs. If I would go with a test pipe, maybe another 4~5lbs and if I would of went with the Amuse R1 sub-taiko less another 7lbs removed or if I would of went for the R1000 another 1lb so 68lbs total. The stock components weigh in at like 88lbs total, so no way to lose 80lbs unless you run nothing.

Makes sense I was just taking a random guess lol Remove the spare tire and tools and then youll be about 80lbs lighter
