A good idea would be to combine this with a test pipe for ease of install since most of us have a test pipe anyways.

A cut out would have to be tuned like any other mod for best results. Given the resulting compromises I would just get a good 70mm system as earlier stated. Just how would you use this? Flip it open to get on the freeway then close it? So you get called out by a white Jetta, then what, "hold on dude while I open my cutout"? Too late junior...

could the dimension allow this to be made into a bolt application if given to some experience weilders to directly replace cat or test pipe???

Unless you have a CAT, there is no tuning needed whatsoever. I am stating this based off of actual experience, and not what I think to be true. You cannot compare the gains made by a 70mm, 3" or whatever other size exhaust to a cut-out. There is a night and day difference between the two.

A cut-out is primarily designed for track use.

What is this "dimension" you are speaking of?

QTP makes down-pipes with this cut-out in it for Evos. I am not sure if they make it for other cars.

Here is one example of the potential gains from this cut-out:

Cliff notes: 38awhp and 16 ft-lbs gains

I don't understand why some of you are so skeptical about this mod.

Check out the link I posted above. Nothing fishy about this mod. It should be very easy to understand that a car will make more power if the exhaust gases can be vented right after the manifold instead of having to travel all the way through the exhaust piping.
