Ok so I was sold on the 4.77 and I had started price searching and I found that Js racing makes 4.9gears and 5.1 gears theyre in the bulletproof auot e-store does any one out there have these???

i can only imagine how sore your arm would be from all the shifting required with a 5.1 final drive on a DD with a close ratio tranny .

someone is socal is selling a complete 4.77 diff for like 900 w/ no core.

I have 4.77's and I would suggest them for windy backroad fun...hwy rpm's are not loud unless something is wrong with your car...if you plan to do hwy pulls i would get a lower fd...in stop and go traffic they are great

Mind of i hijack your thread real fast? I plan on getting new gears, and a lot of thread suggest getting the HTG install kit as well. The kit contains new OEM parts that are recommended to be replaced. Considering my car has less then 1,000 miles and 2 weeks old, there is no reason for me to get this kit, right?

Some differential shops make their own crush washers or have them on the shelf. If you go to a shop that does not supply these parts and has no clue where to get them then you would probably need the kit. The last set up I had done was $150 and that included $20 for a custom crush washer.
