Default Ghetto exhaust mod

I just had the cat back replaced (at dealer under warranty) because of rattle from a baffle in the muffles. Problem is, car is way to quiet now. On the exhaust that came off, I had the resonator removed (long ago). The car seemed louder (in a good way) the last month or so. When they took off the exhaust, a small leak was found on one of the welds were the resonator was.

So, why shouldn't I have the resonator removed on the new exhaust and drill a small hole near where the old leak was (not in the weld of course)? Ghetto yes, but it sounded good.
Question is, how much did that loose baffle at to the sound?

In fact, right before I had the new cat back put on, I had a Ferrari owner drive my car. He commented on how good it sounded.

Ok, first, it's "Ghetto"

Second, Invidia V3 used catbacks can be had for as little as $200. Why is this better? Not only do you get a nice sound increase and *maybe* a few ponies, but you drop somewhere in the area of 40-50lbs from the car.

Just check the classifieds for a used catback, single or dual. It's a nice mod.

It is ghetto (I know), but doesn't look or sound it. And, I don't like rice (fart cans).
I am wondering more about the hole(s) letting in oxygen and creating back fires that could harm the mufflers.

No no no, hes saying we expect more from you because you have an 09, so we know you aren't some punk ass kid (hopefully) who just bought some high mileage AP1 and is going to trash it.

My car is loud, but with the test pipe, people stare as I drive by, and it's not a bad stare. Trust me, a nice catback and testpipe/HFC makes our car puuuuurrrrr

The tinny/buzzy terrible sound that everyone hates on inline4 cars (stereotype:civic with fart can) comes from not putting a proper resonator on the car.
