Default Greddy E-Manage

I'm in the market of getting a E-Manage, but don't know if it's worth it. Dont really want to spend too much $ for AEM EMS. Being fast on straight is not really my priority right now, but since I have i/h/e, I mind as well go get my car tuned to run better w/ these mods. Also because due to the lost of my low end right now, I kinda want a little more low end just for DD.

My mods:

- fujita cai
- j's header
- okada coilpack
- test pipe ( not installed )
- t1r 70r-em

So my question is should I get my car tuned, or should I stay the way I am now?

Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks

yes, vafc will get you some nice gains. I have a vafc on my AP2 and I got some nice midrange gains.

I heard that you have to reset your ECU every week to keep the your car to run good is that right?

If I had an AP2 I wouldnt get the vafc2. If you want to tune partial throttle you will have to reset the ECU once in a while, the vafc2 is usually for WOT tuning.

The reason most people use the vafc2s on AP1's is because the early ap1s ran real rich, and leaning them out can get some good gains (9whp) on mine across the board, no partial throttle tuning though.

If I had an AP2 I would get an e-manage or an aem ems so that you could raise the redline to about 8600, something the vafc2 cant do. Lots of people have seen good gains raising the AP2 redline.

oh I see. Well...... since the aem ems is so xpensive imma think about the e-manage then. Because straight is not really my priority, cause I usually do canyon runs only, so I dont want to spend that much $ on being fast at straight. And since I only have basic bolt-ons i/h/e, I assume the e-manage is enough for me, instead of the e-manage ultimate, for a decent good gain? Thanks

E-manage should probably get you around 10ish whp with a good tuner. You could also tune partial throttle which is good for daily driving. Should do the trick.

ooO I see..... I'm wondering around how much am I looking for w/ E-Manage plus a good tune? I hope is under $500. Also, Im curious of if a good tune will increase MPG since gas in LA is close to $4.60/gal

Probably be a little more honestly, you could probably get it used with the boomslang plug and play harness for around $300+. Tuning for this is a little harder than a vafc2 so factor in tuning time and dyno time youll probably be close to $600. Well worth it IMO. Considering you payed more than that for less gains with your header and exhaust
