I have no clue on the thickness, maybe Moddiction will chime in here. Here is a link to his shields for sale. Mine was this same one just overlaid in carbon.

Yeah the Moddiction ones and the Ztec shields doent extend very much, but it still does keep a lot of heat off of your intake or airbox, resulting in lower intake temps. The PWJDM shield extends more and blocks almost everything off, so I would think that one would help even a little more since it makes a barrier between the intake and the header.

Thanks, sadly I just sold most of it though. The inake, AUT cooling panel, and my Moddiction heatshield. So I no longer have it.

On these types of heat shields, wouldn't the heat that is deflected back towards the engine block keep it hotter than normal (without a shield there), or would it not make much of a difference? I guess more heat would have to escape under the engine, instead of spreading around the intake box.

It's not really enough to make a difference. The OEM airbox sits fairly close to the engine block, and installing a CAI and making a lot more room in the engine bay doesnt affect any under the hood temps, so that proves it wont do anything.

meh, i've always considered it as one of those mods that are more for the "look". The difference is insignificant enough and I doubt you will feel any difference.

^ I do agree with you. It actually does make a small difference, but its nothing that you will ever notice. I honestly wanted it more for looks anyways.

i have the PWDJDM cf heatshiled, but after like 3000miles, the bottom and the top end of the heat shield is bending towards the engine. which is straigh anymore. this is a note from my experience on their product. think before you buy.

by the way, as suzuka-blue-s2k mentioned, there are no noticible performance gain, but definitely blocking some temperature to the intake
