Do you have proof of this? I got 13 HP from my Megan Header.
Dyno Before and after Megan header install.
nope...that's why i said they're just opinions
I have my setup backed up by dynos, but i dont have a header. With the emanage ultimate i got 12.7hp increase and 9.6 ft/lb torque though.
I pulled 230.4 hp on a dynapack dyno, and 204.7 on a mustang dyno. I'm pretty confident i'll be breaking 210 on a mustang though by the end of february.
ap1s are much more responsive to mods though.
do you have the megan header wrapped or just installed w/out heatshield? might be an option to look into if you're getting that much of gain.
it's just that copy cat pieces like that, i like to have a little bit of a track record behind them before i jump on it. i'm all for a cheaper alternative with a track record though.

I haven't seen any results of the megan header on an AP2. I don't have the header wrapped or heat treated. There is no heat shield for it either. I would like to see if the AP2 results are similar with the header. I am hoping to get 215-220 HP when I get my vafc tuned.

that's the thing that concerns me about the megan: the lack on heat shield.
those are pretty conservative numbers for an ap1 w/tune so i think you should be able to hit those numbers with a good tuner.
but you'll lose partial throttle tune w/in a week or so w/the vafc unfortuantly. that's why i recommend the e-manage ultimate in addition to much more tuning options as well. but you're top end numbers should remain.

J-phish is talking about 215-220whp on a DynoDynamics, which should read 225-230whp on a DynoJet. Keeping fingers crossed to see if he can hit that 220whp mark with vafc tuning...and from seeing his stock early-ap1 AFRs, he just might make it. We've had one other impressive success with a Megan on an ap1 here in Jax. And soon someone else from our Jax crew will be testing one on an ap1. If all three show good gains and all three have different exhaust set-ups, then I think as a community we'll be able to say that the Megan is well proven on an ap1.

Spugen Exhaust (round Canister with burnt Titanium)
Megan Racing Header
AEM V2 Intake (the S isn't a daily driver so I wont drive it in puddles, or when it rains)
Maybe a "High-Flow cat" <--- is it really worth it?
Gears, I want to shorten them up just a bit, but don't want
Eibach 1'in drop
Wildwood Cross-drilled/slotted Rotors, with Red Calipers
Maybe a Lightweight Flywheel
Single Exhaust - 63mm or 70mm depending on what your noise tolerance levels r.
14whp with my 60mm Apexi Single GT.
Megan Racing Header - I got 5whp...withmy VAFC tune. Selling my header to try out Hytec..let it go for 230 shipped and Paypaled.
Aem V2 - Only got 5whp ...soo ehhh I would get the K&N just to try it out ?
High Flow Cat - ??? Just get Testpipe matching the exhaust size that you purchased. Mine was made custom and netted 4whp
Gears - NO pwer increase at all..FYI. Make the butt dyno go nutz though. Really goes through the band NICE. I got 4:56 and wow its nice but prob going to be too much for me when I go S/C so i wanna sell it
Springs - I got Tein type S works fine...lol
i dynoed 220.3 in a local Dyno here in Miami...JDM Performance.

Hope i helped a little
Yeah, I did the research, rather then spend 3k and make it barely any quicker, Im going to go Vortech Supercharger, Ill do Megan Header, Test Pipe, Spugen Exhaust, those with the Supercharger should allow me to blow away the new Infiniti G37 that pulled on me the other day......
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
A little close minded dont ya think.
S/C cost 3500 for a USED one with evrythign...that is if you can find a used one with everything.... most will not go lower then 3k and the are missing $300 fuel pump and some gauges and/or bolts. NEW is 4600. That is WITHOUT EMS... include EMS and your looking at 5300. NEW
I havent spent a dime on my ride...My ex female friends did.
For a good 2500 and maybe an extra 600 give or take you can easily be as fast as Srt-4 stage 1 , evos (while rolling in like 30 ) ,350z and others. total cost spent on mods was about 2k...and thats because I have a VAFC.
Maybe realistically speaking 3500 can get you J's headers/EMS nice Single....and still have money for tune ? 1200 J's heeder + 1300 EMS+600 exhaust...and the rest goes into tunning oh and the Testpipe.
BTW I spanked the new g37 by 2 cars from a 20 roll....kept it until 137mph..probably 134 since i disconnect my speedo calibrator.
