Maybe you should do a survey yourself and see what are other enthusiasts' perspective on your ridiculous HID output to find out why. Or perhaps ask s2ki crowd what their reaction would be when they see an s2k out there on the street with 14k HID?
Based on your replies, you seem to be going through a stage which you're gonna do whatever you want regardless of others' opinions against it though. Enjoy yourself.

i don't understand why you brought rotas into your argument...
anyways, are you going for 12k because you like the blue/purple tint? i think you could achieve the same with 8-10k
. i was thinking about going 6k myself but higher than that it :/

Yea I like the purple look to it and wanted something different and have heard that people with 10k get hit with having blue in the headlights because the whole red and blue lights being illegal.
I'm not sure how familiar you are with the light spectrum, how it works, and what the kelvin readings actually mean. Please refer here to further your understanding: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature

Here's a pic of the light spectrum. As you can see here, 12,000 - 14,000 kelvin is so far off the visible light chart, it's like you're emitting UV light.

Here's my stock 4300K HID lights up close. I don't have one from afar.
