Holy crap I didn't even know you could get 12k or 14k bulbs... call me naive... but wow! To give my honest opinion, I don't like either. I saw a couple of cars the other day with purple-ish lights and I was laughing at them (not to be mean but it's the truth). The girlfriend said, "How pretty, they're purple!" Considering her car knowledge is comparable to mine with women's shoes, I wouldn't want that kind of comment being said about my car .

Sorry if my response sounds a bit brash, but at least it's my honest opinion. Since you asked, I figure my honest opinion would be a little more insightful than the other more ridicule laden responses.

Also, I couldn't help but notice a few common word misspellings in this thread... pay attention in English class people! And this is coming from someone who was a B writer in high school and college .

I don't understand why people ask for photos either. Unless the photographer has carefully fixed the white balance on the camera you can't compare one photo to the next.

4300k = max useable light (and the only thing legal in the US)

The Philips 6000k Ultinons are still acceptable with light output, though they do tend to look a bit more purplish-white.

You have to admit the question is funny as hell. I mean, 12K is officer-please-pull-me-over color already. So why NOT pick 14K. Mo' better right?

To the OP, surely you can see why many of us react like we do. We like our S2K's. We don't like rice. When I see a rice-maxed S2K i cringe and feel bad. Must be that little bit of vomit rising.

To answer his question, yes, 14000k is going to get you pulled over. Hell, anything over 6000k is going to stick out like a sore thumb.

i sure every hid kit in the USA from factory is 4300k

if it wasnt for the projectors there would be a hit of yellow

i have 5000k install on my bike and doesnt have projectors so the color is almost pure white

All US OEM HIDs are 4300k, it's the only legal temperature/color.

Some look different due to age and optics.
