It doesn't look bad in one of the pics where I hope is a cover over them.

They look retarded without the covers though.

And speakers are too big for that space. Maybe be some 4.5s.

Ita def a cheaper option to the oem ones.

I'm pretty happy with just the door components though.
Don't see a need to have music blasting to the back of my head

I had those in my old S.. u can fit a pair of 6.5 inch speaker/tweeter.. in between is just tie wraps so they're not really center but not noticeable unless ur top is down.. rite now I'm just running front speakers.. I'll reinstall those if I decide to run rear speakers.. they're not the best but the cheapest & easiest way to run rear speakers..

I Always liked the hidden compartment sub idea but that requires a lot work lol.

I'm still running stock speakers with alpine hu.
It sounds ok at best but I def need to upgrade the speakers soon.

I had those in my ap1 when I bought the car, I removed them shortly after purchasing the car as I did not like speakers in that position. Mine had front covers on them so they looked better than the ones in that link. I did not like the look of the roll hoops when viewed from the rear when the top was down. With the top up the interior was also a bit darker without light coming through the roll hoops. The sound was a bit overwhelming behind my head, though I guess you could play with the fade if you really wanted them. The speakers in that location just threw off the balance of the system IMO. If you want sound to really overcome the vehicle road noise they will do the trick very easily though, you will get a ton of sound with them which some people may like.
I ended up adding 4 inch speakers in the plastic vent panels behind the seats, they added a nice ambiance to the system and I really like them there, not nearly as loud as roll-hoop speakers but much more preferrable to me.
