I would probably be down for a GB if the price was decent.
You just missed it, dude.

Got my SOS hood struts today and installed 30 minutes later.

Look great and function great! I'm glad I got them! They raise the hood a bit higher than expected, but I guess that's ok. And the angle of the struts to the fenders allow fantastic access to the engine bay.

The Proprietary mounting brackets are fantastically engineered.

Will they not hold by themselves at lower heights? My NRGs will hold at any angle past about 40 degrees.

And conversely with regard to wind - be mindful of brisk wind from the back of the car to the front. The hood pin in the back of the head hurts like Hell!

There is a range in which they hold them selves at a height set by the operator, but once I put them beyond a specific angle, they automatically raise the hood to the highest point. They have a good weight/pressure to them that offers decent resistance, but not too much. Not sure if the wind was interfering with this or not.

And with regard to the hood pin in the back of the head, I know what you mean. I've had a similar experience. But the pin never hit me, just the hood when the wind blew it off the prop and it dropped back down.

The ScienceofSpeed Hood Dampers are featured in the June issue of Modified Magazine - used by the magazine's own Andrew Wojteczko for their project S2000. Check out the latest issue - and thank you for the review Andrew!

Our materials costs have increased considerably. Rather than offer group buys, we have decided to keep the price of the hood damper sets the same as they have been for two years: $194.50.
