How much room is there for S2000 modifications?
Since the S2000 is already cranking 237HP out of an inline 4, how much 'room' is there left to modify an S2000? I mean, if you compare to a lot of peoples suped up Ingetra's or Civic's with something like 500 WHP that have insane 1/4 mile times, can this many modifications be done with an S2000 aswell?
same as the 500hp civics your talking about, boooost
Ive never heard of a b series or even a k series putting out 500hp. One thing you have to remember most of those civics and integras are alot lighter and traction owns them. The f20 is a good motor but just like any car it's all in the tune. I know there are some stock motor 500hp s2k's on this forum hopefully they will chime in. happy modding!

there's a number of ways of doing it, but here's what i understand from reading on here:
high power figures are attained, normally, by creating hybrids.
turbos help
quality parts make a HUGE difference to longevity of the engine.
engines that are blueprinted and are highly modified seem to be capable of far higher feats.
So engines that've been re-sleeved, full on, major work costing bucks, really do hold the power and strengthen the engine properly. Base mods like this act as a multiplier/accelerant to getting high figures.
A sleeved block that's been professionally worked may produce noticeable power above oe units AND do it more reliably.
My freind has a boosted civic that has been in a few mags making over 400hp.If you have deep pockets you can get the same or better results form the S motor. Look at some of the boosted guy's on this site or just drool over some of "Sideways" posts
(his car will walk lots of High HP cars)
I've saw an article on an S2000 in CA that was putting out 800 HP.
There was an east coast S2K putting out like 616 hp.
While those are pretty silly numbers for a street driven car, the point is...yes, you can build a very powerful S2K.

Turbo is the only way to go if you want high hp numbers.
CFT (Central florida turbo) is a shop maybe you guys have heard of around here. They have a civic hatch with a b-series pumping out 800+whp I think it was around 850whp I cant remember.
