so previous owner used loctite on shift knob and I've tried taking it off but I don't want to hurt the tranny by twisting the life out if it. some say remove te shift lever but to do that you have to remove the shift knob. if anyone can help me I want to get rid of this shift knob lol thanks!

If the knob won't come off no matter what you may have to cut the shift boot so you can pull the center console off. Once the center console is removed you can pull the shifter out and put it on a vice or torch it or whatever you need to do to be able to pull the knob off. Heat will break down the Loctite.

could you just take off the boot with the console loose then just have the boot around the shifter and then take out shift lever?

From what I can remember that would be a real pain to do. If even possible. You need to unscrew a bunch of screws under the center console to remove the shift boot. Oem ones are super cheap or you can upgrade to a nicer boot at the same time.

I'd just out up a wtb thread or something for them. Can't be more than $5-10 for them.
I can't remember for sure but just pull the center console up and see if you can get to underneath it to remove the screws. You have to unplug the roof and hazard buttons as well.
If you go to my site I have a shift boot installation instructions that show you how to do that if your not sure. I also have instructions for short shifter which shows how to remove the shifter.

If you don't care about the shift knob (planning on replacing) get a giant set of vice grips and put it on the shift knob an proceed to turn.

I may and try to remove the center console and while its hld in by the shift knob/boot ill try and loosen the shift boot so I can gette console free, from there ill take out the lever and then man handle it off without risking messing something up
