just to throw my hat into the ring...

i have an 03, currently running a K&N filter, 70mm exhaust and TP.

just picked up a header, may be a few months before i can add an intake and VAFC+tune to the equation.

should i hold out on installing the header, or should i be alright until i pick up an intake as well?

I think you should be totally fine installing the header now. Which header is it? I would probably go for the tune before adding the intake.

its a megan header. actually i had planned on picking up an intake, and eventually doing a header/vafc/tune all at once, but i got a phenomenal deal on the header from a member here ($85 shipped!) that I just couldn't turn down. so now its sitting aroudn taunting me to install it, but i obviously want to play it safe.

You can do some research to verify it, but I believe the Megan header is not really much of a performer. I don't think it will do much that would require any major tuning.

Nope. I dynoed at Mavrik Motorsports here in sunny southern califronia. Dyno was mainline dynolog from australia.

Believe it or not, it's actually supposed to make decent gains, especially in the middle. Obviously it's no hytech or Tracy sports, but I've heard anywhere from 5-12whp with tune. I was surprised too, and the results I was hearing were enough for me to pick it up. I think really any header for the S needs a tune to really make a difference, but it's just untuned AFR that I'm not sure about.

AEM v2, Invidia 70mm test pipe and 70mm Greddy single

Tail pipe sniffer for a/f ratio. On a side note, I've had this combo on the engine since new for about 10k or so miles with no ill effect as. On the dyno day the motor had about 7k or so miles on it.

Wow. I can't imagine what weather conditions in So Cal would warrant a 1.18 correction factor. That would also mean that your uncorrected peak power would only be about 160 rwhp, whis is lower than anything I've heard about.

Hmm that's weird. They were saying that dyno is one of the most accurate numbers. This makes me wonder. Maybe there's a mistake somewhere for the conversions?

The engine speed and tach speed at kph?!!
