I was basically in you exact shoes when I got my 05. It was really down tot he K&N or CT engineering and I went with the CT because I found a used one in perfect shape for less than the K&N. I love how it sounds and it looks great under the hood. I did not want a CAI and I am happy. The one thing I will say with the CT engineering is make sure you take your time with the install. There are some fragile parts that if you rush will break. I think with either one you will be happy for me it just came down to price.

Read the countless intake threads again and think a bit about why there isn't just one single answer. For one thing, best is highly subjective (and meaningless without your needs/wants/budget/criteria/etc). Gains are negligible and if gains aren't your top concern then just pick one, flip a coin, etc.

Good is also a highly subjective word. The K&N is "good" -- so are others (depending on who you ask, of course). Again, read the other intake threads. I really don't understand why people think a new thread is going to generate one single definitive answer when all the other prior threads did not, whether the topic is intakes, oil, other fluids, etc.

no matter what you want to ask about a S2000, its probably been asked before.
after 10+ years of production, im sure just about anything you can think of has been done..

i usually do a google search for "____whatever____ s2ki" and usually find the answer.

if not, THEN you post.

This question is so opinionated that it's not even funny..

You can ask this question a million times and get 725,000 different answers..

Just get which one you think looks the best on the car, it'll work good enough!!

That being said, I've had the K&N FiPK and I loved it during the winter time, when spring rolled around I got annoyed with the heat soak (heat bogging) in traffic so I got rid of it for the AEM V2.. I'm much happier now, just my $.02..
What kind of temperatures do you get where you live in the Spring/Summer time?
It's still in the 80's right now and it's retarded humidity when it's warm..

During the summer it's like 90's-100 degrees..

With my modified FIPK, the IAT would only drop to about 105* while cruising in 85* weather. That's with an aluminum pipe though.

I doubt anyone has tried them all so take it with a grain of salt.

In my opinion, pick the cheapest one that doesn't have any design flaws (which is difficult with such a product). When I saw intakes for over $1000... I'd much rather put that money towards a turbo setup or even FlashPro that would actually result in some noticeable performance gains.

^^^. Agreed. When I first got my car and started looking at intakes, I thought for sure the prices were type-os.
I can't believe a damn intake costs $1000!

The cheapest solution if you just want a ram intake is to buy a cheap eBay intake and swap it out with a k&n filter.
You're basically paying for the piping.
The same could be done with a eBay cai system too.

After seeing all the reviews, I ended up just getting a k&n drop in.

You're not gonna get much gain even with a $1000 intake.
You're better off spending that money on some gears or a sc.

I've made my decision. K&N FIPK.

I'm mainly just looking for the sound and the K&N seems to be readily available at the local dealers. $340 taxes in - Canadian Pricing.
