Intake Question..
I notices that intakes for this car cost an arm and a firstborn. Specifically, a simple design like the K&N Intake Kit, goes for $290.
This may be sophmoric, but couldn't I just get the K&N cone filter replacement and drop it into the stock airbox with the top open? Wouldn't that pretty much be the $50 version of the same thing offered by K&N for $290?
So basically, will this work? Anyone just removed the resonator and added a K&N cone in it's place?

i'd chop the interior out of the oem box and add the cheapest snorkel you could find. that is probably the most cost effective way to yield horsepower from the intake. a lot of other intakes are way overpriced and yield small gains (other than the increased noise).
for modding, i'd think of it as this way, $300 minimum for intake, header is $500+, hfc/tp $100-$250, exhaust $500+ and the total is way more than the cost of a geared differential.
s2ooo + gears > s2ooo + i/h/e
