Default Just bought a PRM Jetstream Intake!

just as the title states...I got a Mishimoto radiator for Christmas and in order for it to fit I decided to go a different route on the intake...so my K&N will be up for sale

but that's besides the point...i'm just stoked and can't wait to get the PRM...I've had several "about to pull the trigger moments" in the past but never did until tonight...I know it's not super popular on among the S2000 community, but it's just a nice change...from the research I did on the various subforums it's a good intake and no real issues w/it besides risk of heat soak in warm temperatures (something I plan to deal with later on w/an air duct or some sort)

opinions are welcome

Wow that was weird. You posted this right before I posted a thread asking about extending the PRM intake to get cooler air .

You will love this intake, it sounds awesome.

I'll get some tomorrow. I just installed it last week and got rid of my K&N FIPK, performance wise I dont feel any differences. I also got a new moddiction carbon heatshield coming, and i'm making a new crossmember cover since the one I recently made I kind of messed up on. I'll get some pics after work tomorrow since I think my shield should be here too.

cool...I'm also looking into a heat shield but not sure if I wanna go w/the Moddiction or Password JDM one...the PWJDM extends a little further...either way I'd cover the back w/gold heat reflective foil

I heard there was no real performance gains from that intake.

well I've heard the chicken crossed the road just to get laid...I've read all the threads that exist about it...honestly I've talked to Greg at PRM and he sent me the dyno graphs a while back...I'm confident in this intake and lets be honest here...an intake doesn't do much for ya in the first place in terms of gains...I'm no worried but am stoked to get it

PRM actually has dyno graphs with proven gains. So why would people not believe that, but they believe the FIPK makes power? Until someone can prove this wrong by taking their stock airbox s2000 to the dyno, getting a baseline, then replacing it with the PRM and it loses power, its just a myth. I feel no difference whatsoever between the PRM and the FIPK, so i'm happy. Plus like midnight said, an intake isn't going to make a crazy amount of power anyways, and you will never feel a couple HP difference. If someone is seriously looking for an intake to squeeze every HP out, they would get something different such as the PWJDM or a CAI, then get it tuned.

I would love to hear how that thing sounds, u still have stock exhaust right max? I would love to hear you revving your car via ur intake manifold to hear how this thing screams. Supposedly it's the best sounding. Realistically i would never get it, heat soak looks crazy for track days
