So you know if you tint the tails and youre involved in an accident you can be found negligent and your insurance can refuse to cover the accident. Same goes for people changing their HIDS to anything other than 4300k's.

Show me where it says that in any insurance policy, because mine is absent. Besides you still have your third brake light that is nice and bright.

I'm not going to tint my taillights, but find it funny to read all the self proclaimed insurance policy writers views.

This thread got me thinking,

I have lamin-X on my taillights, and headlights. I have the super light shade on the front (barely visible as "tint") and the gunsmoke on the tails. They both look great, IMO. Very subtle, and the lighting of the rear is not affected. I do feel the headlight output, even as light as the tint is, is affected, and I am also starting to worry now, with the time change and having to drive home in the dark every night, my headlights may crack. Anybody have any experience with the lamin-X on the front cracking headlights?

I believe I've seen a thread on here where someone did have the headlights crack w/ Lamin-X (search for Lamin-X and you should find it).
how did you find the install for the Lamin-X to be on the tails?

Yeah, I am gonna take the headlight tint off, not worth the risk, IMO.
The tails were easy as pie, I had a shop install it LOL.

Probably smart!
They turned out well then (no problems with the edges lifting up, big bubbles appearing, etc)?

They turned out perfet, couldn't even tell it was an overlay.

HOWEVER......
When I removed the tint last night, I def. had the cracks on my driver side headlight, across the top edge, only really visible from cetain angles, exactly like everyone else has suffered. These WILL crack your lights, or at least hairline fracture them from the inside.

I am not going to do anything, b/c I drive the car 80 miles everyday and the headlights are bound to get nicked and smacked with all manner of things, and you'd have to really be looking for this to see it, gonna grab some PlastX on my lunch break and shine them up the best I can and call it a day, She's still the cleanest 03 daily driver anyone round these parts has ever seen
