Yeah. I am aware. I'd have something made to fit OEM cat.

@pmptx - Thanks! That would be fun.

@berny2435 - I don't want to share anything about the design of the intake right now.

@bunger78 - I believe my mid-pipe will pass "sniffer" tests, since the HFC is fully functional. However, it would not pass a visual.

@berny2435 - The OEM cat can't be used with my mid-pipe. Even if I made a cat-back design, the whole benefit from the mid-pipe comes from relocating the catalyst behind the expansion chamber.

Finally got torque graph:

i really think i can get more area under the curve...too bad this damn thing is locked
vtec is probably not low enough
i'll probably go back next year, but i just don't have time to deal with it right now. my 60 hour weeks are going to turn into 80+ soon FML.

Thanks for posting the plot. Did you ask them to unlock the tune? It really does look like they should have lowered VTEC a bit, and that dip in torque at 5500 is odd. Would you remind me what breather mods you have?

Obviously the gernpipe is doing what it's supposed to do.

I think the 5.5 is odd too and I believe it can be fixed with timing adjustment.

I didn't get around to asking them to unlock it yet. I am not sure who locked it could've been tuner or middle man and both are reputable persons.

Breathing mod are aem cai v2 and 68mm TB.

I just became a dealer for Magnaflow, so I will be able to sell exhaust systems that are much closer to "complete". I just need to figure out what level of "complete" I will be comfortable delivering. My mid-pipe requires perfect fitment, and I don't think I can gaurantee perfect fitment on a fully completed "bolt-on" system without having the actual car. />

Sweet.

Don't call it a perfect fitment. Install with clamps loose, snug to fit when aligned.

what about this makes it so it needs more perfect fitment than a cat back exhaust with stock cat? I'm assuming you're thinking about doing a full header back, which is what makes sense to me. That's why exhaust hangers are nice - they give some play.

This would be considered a headerback as it replaces the stock cat location with a testpipe section.

The clearance issues are real...the gernpipe gets as fat as 4" its conical actually (imagine 3.5" diameter pipe) going through the rear axle and lower control arm. Imagine your hfc going underneath the rear passenger driveshaft.

I had to do some trimming of bracketry, bending and massaging of hangers to get mine to fit and eliminate the rattles. None now

Any shift in the exhaust during cornering or bumps and you WILL certainly have contact with the spinning driveshaft hub/differential carrier. It is not a nice sound.

^ Got it, that makes sense as to why fitment is such a concern. I didn't realize the HFC moved quite that far back.
