you can feel it. my stock sets of tires were filled with nitrogen and i've been riding on them aggressively for 2 years and have never had to refill them. i have about 10-15% tread left on all four. the nitrogen outlasted the tires.

i recently bought some aftermarket rims with tires. these tires were filled with air. after about 6 months of use, i'm down to 25% tread and i dropped about 16psi in air. (yes i measured the psi when i had them and measured them when i took them off)

i recent put my stocks back on after about 6 months of storage, and everything is good plus my mpg increased. NITROGEN FTW
Uh WTF?

You let your tires go down 16psi. No wonder you got better mileage when putting on tires with the appropriate pressure.

No doubt. My favorite in this thread so far:

Ideally, it would be best to check your tire pressure regardless what you fill them with rather than fill with N2 and take a fire and forget attitude.

Personally, I like to fill my tires with Hydrogen. That way, when I smoke my tires, I REALLY smoke my tires.
read my post again and you'll see that I was explaining how they put nitrogen in the tire...and nothing to do with not checking tire pressure.

The comment about checking tire pressure was a non-sequitor.

The was about the "air" molecules vs. nitrogen molecules, water permeating from the inside of the tire to the outside... that stuff.
