Strange. My Concept G doesn't drone at all. Mine is mated to a berk tp though.
+1 with the stock cat theres a light drone at 2500-3500rpm

With a Berk HFC there's 0 drone.

But, for some people, "light drone" = Armageddon.

Lessee, was it:

The 14:1 Arias pistons that I forgot to get coated and oh well never mind, the valve reliefs weren't big enough for the (stock) valves so when I took it apart not only were the pistons all scuffed to heck, but you could see little "dings" in all the valve pockets.

Or perhaps it was the TODA adjustable cam gears that allowed me, the self proclaimed neophyte engine builder of LESS than no repute, to dial the bitchin' outer lobes only Cam Motion cams so tight that the third pull on the dyno (we were just getting acquainted you see and were only "cruisin'" it up to 10,000 or so) to sort of break things in before some serious work. The mixture was all off and, we were still pulling 283 NA RWHP, when ............................................. that's right.... nothing. Suddenly no noise. Everything just stopped. Dunno what went first. The shattered rocker followers. The shaft in the upper timing chain gear. Or a couple of intakes hitting a couple of exhausts. But somewhere in there was the part I shouldn't have bought. Or installed. Or "adjusted".
FWIW, stock Honda, at least from the head gasket down is the way to go in my book. An FWIW#2 the fastest I've ever gone was with a junkyard F20C out of a wrecking yard in Alabama with only an after market ECU and bigger injectors (the stockers were running 100% duty cycle to keep up), 265+ mph. But then again it DID have a serious aero kit.

Oh, did I mention......? It is a purpose built race car designed for top speed only. 21' long. 26" wide. 28" tall.

How 'bout I tell you about the time my girl friend lost the oil filter at 235mph? Well the short version is NEVER, NEVER, NEVER run anything but synthetic oil. Five quarts all over glowing red headers (imagine what yours would look like if you were on it HARD for over a minute and a half solid) and no fire. THANK YOU Amsoil. Oh, no engine either when she was done, BTW, but it was the last day of the meet so it wasn't TOO painful.

Yeah, I've bought a few parts I shouldn't have. But the F20c and the F22C are such killer car motors. You want to make ponies with 'em? Make the intake path so you can look into the ITB's and see the intake valves. I know, I know, you'll have to put a big bulge in your hood, but it'll look so cool and won't kill your top speed THAT much.

Anyway, that's enough gibberish for now.

Thanks for the forum.

And keep the shiny side up.

Jim
AKA Fastest S2000 motor of all.
Damn dude, where in SD are you...There's a few of us that would love to check that 200+mph beast. Plus there's a couple of us that could take in some knowledge on building an F20/F22 motor for boost in the future.

Maybe it was the way the drone resonated inside the cabin when I had the Hard Top???

Different strokes for different folks...

Intake manifold gasket - basically insulates the intake manifold from engine heat in an attempt to reduce heat soak in hot weather.

the absolute worst mod i ever did was powder coating my calipers. It took a ton of work. taking the rears apart was a PITA and the prep work was even worse...

I eventually started tracking my car. When i began picking up speed the powder coat on the rears began to crack and now looks like complete garbage.
