adj the hood latch is cake. There are three 10mm bolts that hold it in place once you loosen them you will notice the hoodlatch goes up and down and side to side. Try not to loosen it too much just a lil bit so you can pull it up. One you pulled it up a bit retighten and try closing it. It will take you a while to get it perfect( I did this when I installed my spoon snorkel) but its better than buying and waiting for a mugen style hood which would prolly need the latch adjusted too. Now remeber im not talking about the latch on the hood it self its the one on the rad support.

first of all... many thanks to all the fellas who are helping PhoQ out with the PWJDM intake install. i really appreciate this.

secondly, why doesn't anybody ever PM the man who made it? send me a PM and i'll walk you through all the steps.

you also need to position the chamber as far back as possible... this also might require loosening the 2 lower OEM brackets that the chamber sits on, and reset those slightly farther back. there is a bit of play there... and this will help out quote a bit, but ultimately, you might still need to adjust your latch. i only had to adjust the latch on one of the installs that i did personally. anyhow, cutting the hood is not necessary.

I just installed mine last night, and I must say I'm VERY disappointed in the engineering of the middle chamber. The holes in the filter cover will not line up with thne lower chamber. I was only able to get 3 screws in it. Also, if I put the screws in the lower part of the chamber into the OEM brackets, then it doesn't; rest properly above the radiator and the hood won't dose. I had to just remove those bolts entirely so that I could close the hood.

I am pleased with the appearance, but a better design for the fasteners is needed. I'm going to uninstall it this weekend so that I can drill the holes large enough to get the bolts in.

\BTW, the instructions REALLY should include tips about how to deal with the 10+ different problems that can arise.

After quite a bit of drilling and adjusting, I was finally able to get the center chamber bolted down with most of the bolts in the lid. However, one of the bolts wound up cross threaded, and the countersunk nut broke loose from the carbon fiber. Now the nut just spins in the hole. Does anyone have any suggestions for replacing that countersunk nut? I am currently just driving around without the lid on at all since the lid makes a VERY loud rattle when I go full throttle in the mid RPM range.

I would contact PasswordJDM and let them know about your issue. IMO one of the most expensive intakes on the market should have perfect fitment. Maybe they can help you step by step. Just see what you options are..they seem like a trustworthy brand

I sent them an email this morning, but I'm not really sure what they will be able to do about it. They would probably want me to remove the filter chamber, and ship it to them for repair, but there's NO WAY I'm going to do that. I'm hoping they can just give me pointers about how to remove the loose nut, then I'll just come up with my own method for fastening that part of the lid.

BTW, this intake is NOT "one of the most expensive intakes". It is the cheapest of all the carbon intakes, which can be as much as $4K.
