I think I finally fixed the issue with my lid! I was able to drill out the pressed nut so that I could rig up another fastener. I bought a bunch of rubber washers, steel washers, and an assortment of toggle bolts, and played around with them until I was able to tighten the lid down.

It now seems to be INSTALLED! It only took about 8 hours over 5 days!

Has anyone with the PWJDM intake had an issue with a resonant rattle at full throttle? When I go full throttle at between about 3K and 4K RPM's, the lid on the PWJDM intake rattles like a bitch. Tightening the bolts helps quite a bit, but it never goes completely away. Any suggestions? I've been thinking about applying some dynamat on the inside of the lid to dampen the vibrations.

Bumping an extremely old thread. But,were any of you guys who have this intake able to retain the stock hood prop or did you switch to hood dampers? when i had the chamber/snorkel connected, while i was still attempting to make adjustments, i realized the prop would not sit in the holder/stay/whatever its called/clasp.the chamber was about 3" too high blocking any possibility of the prop fitting in the holder. i also had to give up in my attempt to get the hood closed after 4 hours of adjustments with the chamber & snorkel connected(i did not have instructions nor did i have access to the internet to search for instructions.) so now i'm riding around with just the intake installed, but damn it does look good! i refuse to give up on this intake so when i have time off, hopefully this sunday, i will find a way to get everything to fit proper. yesterday was my first day off in 17 days and man, i was giddy like a little girl. i wanted to get this thing on so badly. i thought owning a business would allow me to choose my hours but that is def. not the case and yesterday was a major let down.

one more thing, did anybody notice "pinholes" in the clear-coat? when i looked at it closely and held it up to light, there were hundreds of tiny "pinholes". i don't know how much it would effect anything performance wise but it raised a concern with the quality of craftsmanship. there were also a bunch of dull/rough spots or dings where it looks as if it had been dropped or scuffed. i don't know if all of the pwjdm intakes are like this and this is just something normal when CF is involved??? i realize $1k isn't that much but i was expecting a little more. i am in no way knocking pwjdm products as i will certainly buy more of their stuff in the future, i was just thrown off a bit.
