Default Quick question regarding KW V1 install

I've uninstalled and installed the suspension on this car many times and am very comfortable with the process, however I've never had to reuse the OEM top hats before and had a question about that...

The supplied directions (which are very general) state "install the factory bearing (the top hat) and fix it with the supplied nut." However, the V1s come with two, thin, 17mm nuts and I just stacked them...

Just making sure I used both nuts correctly..

Also, once you torque them down to the prescribed 18ft lbs, if you try to go any further the piston rod will just spin. Is that normal behavior?

you should be fine. they use the 2 nuts like that to lock each other and prevent them from backing out.

Agreed. Koni's are exactly the same; HOWEVER, they come with a curved washer that gets sandwiched between the bottom nut and the top rose bushing.

Sitting next to the double nuts in this picture. I'd check to see if the KWs had the same.

Nothing like that with the KWs. I just reused the factory supporting washer, threw on the top hat and bolted it down with the 2 bolts.

Alright.. it can't be that important since the OEM setup doesn't have a washer under the nut either.
