Has anyone repainted their dash cluster surround? Mine is starting to get a bit worn. If you have-any recommendations on paint and procedure?

Ever thought of polishing it with an abrasive compound?

Just buy some rubbing compound and polish it up.. the piece you want to paint is made of plastic and the paint wont stick well.. tapping it with your key or something on accident will probably cause it to chip and expose it to peel even more

What would happen with rubbing compound on plastic? Isn't it painted from the factory?

Yes it's the dark silver and I've got some slight mottling (specks).

The silver comes off with alcohol. Same for on the console in an 02. Take it off and rub alcohol on it or some other cleaner and it's black underneath.
