Default replacing seat belt?

I got a pair of used oem seat belt that I want to install. The belt seem to be mostly retracted to the pretensioner and locked. Is this normal? Do I need to open up the pretensioner to unlock it somehow before I bolt it in. Will it unlock when i plug the circuit part in the SRS system? Thanks.

if you think your seat belt is malfunctioning then take it to the dealership. by law they have to fix it if its because of wear and tear. the dealership will not charge you a dime.

The previous owner of my car put in 4 point harness with no harness bar, which is why I am trying to put the stock seat belt in not trying to fix them. I brought 2 sets of seat belt from someone here, they claim these are never deployed. I heard seat belts have position sensor that won't unlock unless in proper position. I guess I'll try to bolt them in the car and hope they unlock. Thanks.

Hello OP...

Correct, the seat belt has a built in level that locks and unlocks the seat belt for safety. You have to find the correct position before the seat belt can unwind.

If I remember correctly the SRS sensor plug should be pointing directly up.

Hope this information is helpful, if not PM me.
