Default ricks shift boot-not as easy as they say

so i just installed my Rick's accessories shift boot. when i first got it, i was really impressed with the quality and the detailed instructions. once i got to installing it, my opinion changed. they said it was the same specs as the oem, but there was way too much material and i had to do more cutting on it than i cared to. i also have a moddiction anvil 2 shift knob, which will no longer set down all the way because the shift boot is in the way, again, too much material. i know with mods, there is always some extra work you have to do, so has anyone else had this problem or have any solutions?

I didn't really see an issue with mine, it seemed to fit fine, I guess it has to be designed to work with the stock height shift knob, I never used mine with a lower knob. Some people like the look of extra material with lower shift knobs I guess it depends on your preference.

I like mine, too, though it is worn and I need a new one.

Yes, it sits higher, but that's fine.

It was designed to sit higher so it wouldnt look as bad as the oem does.

Fit fine for me...works well with the OEM Titanium shift knob I have as there is no gap between the boot and the bottom of the knob. Love it, good quality stuff.
