inside the boot, completely. Momo knobs seem to suggest they are universal and u have to use hardware kit to attach. I want one like the Ricks that just threads on. Any info or suggestions? (Ricks knob is now for sale along with top of line Bell detector if anyone interested.) Thanks, SG

How do you propose the boot and knob stay connected? I had the Momo knob and boot before. You screw the knob into the boot, but then how do you use the screws to drive it into the inside big pole? Horrible design.

Never noticed the stock shifter having any gap between boot and knob. Figured some of the after market shifters would get that right also. SG

You lift the shift boot (or whole centre console in our case as it's fairly easy to do so) and screw the knob in.

That would cause the shift knob to not be secured and spin. I've had the Momo boot and knob combo before. You can't secure the knob then screw the boot in because that'll twist the boot. You can't secure the boot onto the knob first because the screw mounts for the knob is under the boot. I have no idea what Momo's intentions were as to using their boot and knob combo.

Just do it in this order:

1: Lift center console up and off of tunnel so it can move freely,

2: attatch your knob and boot together

3: Attatch the knob to the shifter using their hardware

4: attatch the boot to the console

5: replace console back onto tunnel

Unless I am missing something?

Easy fix.......

use a zip-tie on the underside of the boot to cinch it snug around the threaded shaft. Then screw the knob back down.

You'll need to pop up the center console to gain access to the underside of the boot, but it'll eliminate the gap and you'll keep the look/feel of the Rick's knobbage.
