Default Rick's Voodoo Knob alignment?

Got a Voodoo shift knob for x-mas and had it ordered with the 6-speed etching. Awesome knob overall. Really well done.

BUT ...... The shift pattern etching doesn't align when fully tightened. It is about 30 degrees or so off (so the passenger can read it almost evenly when they look over). I have some ideas of what I'd like to try to match it up even like thread tape and maybe putting some sort of spacer/filler in the top to limit the amount it can be screwed on, but I wanted to see if others have run into this problem on any of there screw-on knobs and what they may have done to fix them.

Thanks.

You should have a nut to tighten that goes on before the knob. It is just a nut though nothing special. Set your knob where you want it, tighten the nut against the knob. Done. My CR knob is the same way if I do not put the nut back on.

Not my picture, but exactly what ^ said. Use a nut and tighten it against the knob when you put it in a spot you want, it's no different than the stock knob...

or just jam tissue paper in the knob until you get the right amount in there to have it sit right.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate the help.

But ...... the knob is counter-sunk. The whole idea is to get it lower than the stock one. By default it already covers all the threads and part of the shift rod so that you can't use the stock shift knob nut.

I didn't mess with it yesterday, but will this weekend for sure. Probably a simple fix can be found.

You still use a lock nut. You need a nut that fits into the recess. Knob should have come with one. I would be surprised if the stock nut didnt also fit into recess.

Hmm, didn't see a lock nut. I'll have to see if I can find the box. Or just e-mail the company directly. Turns out they are only about 45 minutes from me per the shipping address.
